How long does it take to get set-up?
Anywhere from 1 - 24 hours depending on our workload and the
method of payment you have chosen. We strive to set up all
accounts in less than six hours.
I
am not a web designer, what templates do you offer?
We can refer you to a website that currently has around
100 top quality, professional looking templates and logos
and best of all - they are free! All come with HTML file and
Photoshop file to customise.
How much space will I need?
Every site is different. Websites with text require less space
than a website with lots of images, animations or coding.
You can upgrade your plan at ANY time.
When can I start to upload?
After your payment has been approved by our bank, your account
is set-up and then we send your set-up email to you. You can
then load to the server.
How do I get my website to you?
Easy! Either using an FTP application or via our Plesk control
panel, Dreamweaver or Frontpage. We offer multiple FTP log-ons.
I
have never made a website - how do I do it?
There are many software applications available. With Microsoft
Office you get Frontpage, Macromedia has Dreamweaver (our
choice) and you can even use Microsoft Word if you are a beginner!
Are there any hidden costs?
None at all! Make sure you check the plans
page to see what you get.
Can you point to our Microsoft Exchange Server?
Yes. You just inform us of your server's IP address and we
make the changes to the MX records.
What are your payment methods?
Credit cards, direct deposit, Australia Post money orders,
bank cheques and Pay Pal.
How can my site be found in the search engines?
With our free advice, we help you to get listed, as quickly
as possible. We provide this information to fully paid annual
customers ordering the eComm plan. This information many companies
charge hundreds of dollars for!
What stats software do you offer?
We offer AWStats
and Webalizer,
depending on which server you are on.
Do you have a shopping cart?
We offer osCommerce
on Linux and Windows. We install at no charge to save you
all the hassle!
Can I take online credit card payments?
Yes you can. All you need to do is contact your bank for details
on how to implement this into your website. You also need
to become a merchant first via your bank.
What connection do you have?
Connectivity
The data centre utilises connections to multiple backbones
to ensure that data reaches the end-user in the fastest, most
efficient manner possible. Network providers include MetroIX,
InterMAP, Genuity and UUNET. There are also peering agreements
with local ISPs to allow fast delivery of packets when possible.
Physical Security
The data centre is physically isolated from everyone but level
three technicians. Public access is strictly forbidden. Access
to the floor the data centre resides on is restricted to those
holding military-grade passcards. Furthermore, access to the
data centre itself is restricted by Biometric hand scanners.
Conditioned Power
Power systems in the data centre are designed to run uninterrupted
even in the unlikely event of a total power outage. All servers
are fed with conditioned UPS (Uninterruptable Power Supply)
power that will run if utility power fails. The UPS power
subsystem is N+1 redundant with instantaneous failover in
case the primary UPS fails. In the event of an extended power
outage, an on-site diesel generator can run indefinitely.
The generator is regularly tested to ensure that it will continue
to function in the event of an emergency.
A Precision Environment
The data centre is meticulously tidy. All air is circulated
and filtered every 90 seconds to remove dust and contaminants.
The data centre's HVAC (Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning)
system is N+1 redundant to ensure that - even in the event
of an entire HVAC system failure - there is a duplicate system
on standby to take over. An advanced fire-suppression system
is in place to prevent any fire from spreading - in the unlikely
event that one could start. All cables to servers and routing
equipment are
securely tied down, and cable racks suspended from the ceiling
provide dual routes for all cables. In the event that all
cables on a cable rack are cut or burned, packets of data
will automatically be routed to a second set of cables on
the other side of the data centre
The Network currently operates at less than 50% capacity
during peak hours. This allows for us to accommodate even
the largest spikes in traffic that are often associated with
the most popular websites. Our technical people are always
adding network connectivity and new routes in an effort to
make sure content is delivered to users as efficiently as
possible. A low bandwidth utilisation also allows for the
highest amount of uptime with multiple DC3-OC12 connections
to backbones.
